Weddings are some of the biggest events for people.There are a lot of things that are needed to be accomplished to coordinate a wedding.  You have to coordinate the ceremony.You need to cordinate all the locations that people will go to.You need to organize things for the reception.  Those are just some of the things that need to be looked into for a wedding.But a photographer is one of the jobs that is crucial.

Why do I say a wedding photographer is so crucial?  The fact that I am a San Diego photographer doesn’t make me biased.A photographer is needed because they have the tough job of capturing the events through photos on that special day.  And if he or she is a good one they will do it well.It’s not just point and click when I say do it well.Anyone with a digital camera can do that.  No a photographer who can do it well is someone who can turn the photos into something memorable.

That is why you don’t just want anybody.  You want an artist. Because being able to catch such an important moment in time is an art.Being able to relive the emotions to someone looking at the pictures is a gift.You should hire a photographer who can do that if you are really planning on hiring one.  That is why as a San Diego wedding photographer I try to show through my work to prospective clients the thought and care put into those shots.They are not just slideshows to be shown to your guests or to be looked at after the wedding.They are shots full of emotions immortalized in a photo.

You also have to hire someone who understands the enormity of the event and his job. That is why I emphasize to my clients the fact that my experience is doing event photography San Diego. That way they will know that I know how special that day is going to be.Hopefully, you should be looking for the same things if your are planning to hire one.Because if you do, you will relive the craziness of that day because it is captured forever in those photos.

When most couples plan their wedding day they take a lot of things into consideration. They coordinate the date according to vacation times from work.  Or they coordinate the day on what is best maybe for family to make it into town.  Or they plan it based upon maybe available venues, like the church or the restaurant.

But one of the biggest things they fail to plan for on the wedding day is the photographer. Don’t think this is something small.  And I am not just saying it because I am a wedding photographer. 

No planning the wedding day with the wedding photographer in mind could mean all the difference in the world. Especially when you realize that the photos are what are going to last a lifetime.

What are some of the factors when you start planning with the photographer in mind.  The time and the date.

Let’s start with the time.  How many people do you think would want their photographer to rush taking the photos?  I am pretty sure most people will not raise their hand to that. 

Well without even thinking about your photographer, a lot of times couples will do just that. The couple or family basically rush the photographer to try and take all the pictures. 

How so you say? Well let’s say, the couple makes the ceremony between 1-2 pm.  With the reception starting at 2:30. How many shots can a photographer make when he only has a half hour to work with?  Not many.

Worse thing to consider, what if he does manage to take all the photos?  Do you think they will be of the best quality when the shots are rushed?  Of course not.

So plan the wedding and reception with enough time in between to take the photos.

Second thing to consider when planning with the photographer in mind is your photographer’s availability.

Most probably don’t realize this, but most good photographers will be booked months in advance. Let’s say you are dealing with a large photography company, they probably have a few photographers.

Well planning your wedding without considering your photographer’s availability could turn into a nightmare.  Because if you book that special day and don’t make sure that the actual photographer will be available, when your wedding day comes you might be shocked to find someone totally different.

This can happen when dealing with a large photographer company.  You might not realize they have plenty of photographers on staff, and if the photographer you fell in love with is booked, unless you specifically ask, the company might not tell you. When the wedding day comes, a second rate photographer or worse yet, they might outsource the work and somebody else will show up.

So be prepared and don’t let this happen. Planning that special wedding day can be truly wonderful.  Make sure you plan it also with your wedding photographer in mind.

Probably all of the list of things to do in wedding planning are frustrating, stressful, and time consuming. That’s why it is crucial that your homework is done when trying to find good people for all the jobs.One of the very big jobs will be that of the photographer. From my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer I’ll show you it can be a few simple steps away.

Finding any wedding photographer is a huge task. There are several factors to consider when making this important selection. The photographs that you get from your wedding day will be some of the most memorable moments that you. The photos will be all over your walls for the rest of yourlife. One of the important factors when trying to find a photographer is price. Most photographers do charge a price for a specific amount of time for the wedding. It is important to know what will be included with that price up front
price. When it comes to finding a wedding photographer, the biggest upside to pricing is there is a lot of competition. Remember, that a lot of photographers can and will negotiate their price a little bit to fit what you need.

Another thing to think about and consider when choosing is the experience a person may have. Is this their firs big wedding job, or have they done a few dozen or more? Their price might be an indication of how many years they have been in business as well. Just because someone has a lot of experience doesn’t always mean they will be better. Sometimes those people that are just starting out and trying to build a name for themselves will turn out to be excellent. The advantage of a person like that and going with them is you know they are going to give it their best. When looking for a wedding photographer, you will find people with varying levels of experience. Doing an interview with a photographer can give you a good sense of what they will be like to work with.

A final thing for you to take into account when trying to decide is the personality the photographer has. Are they likely going to try call all the shots and decide on all your poses? Or will they let the bride and groom make some of the decisions themselves? The other thing to think about is do you want to be the one to make the decisions on the photos. The bride and groom might have enough to worry about that day as it is. Take these factors and consider them when you choose your photographer. If you do, no doubt you will have some beautiful photos to cherish for the rest of your lives.  Take it from me, your experienced San Diego photographer.

Being asked to take photos for a wedding is a huge responsibility.If you are doing it as a favor, or if you are doing it as your profession, following these 5 tips will help you do the job right.

This tips are coming from first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned pro, or if you are an amateur, by following these tips, you won’t second guess yourself.Doing this you will be fully prepared come what may.

Our first tip is easy and that is to have the couple and maybe their families make a list of photos they want to take.When you know the day will be hectic and chaotic, doing this will help you get the family and group shots later on in the day more smoothly.Imagine how wonderful it will be to just go down your list and know that you aren’t leaving anything out.

The second tip on our list is to not delete any shots.  In this day and age of digital cameras, most photographers use them.Great as they are, they might tempt you to delete a shot they may like that you don’t since it is so easy to do.  Don’t even look at the previews.  What makes a great shot in your mind could differ widely that what makes a great shot in the couples minds.You know what, they might like all those un “professional” shots you take.

The third tip to make sure you do is taking candid shots.  A good wedding photographer will not just try and get the typical shots, like family group shots, wedding party shots, or your standard bride and groom.  But they will also try and capture the emotions of the day through the shots of all the people that were there.  And that includes some of the things that could go wrong, like a flower girl not making it all the way to the front, or the ring bearer dropping the rings.Every picture counts.

The fourth piece of advice is make sure you have back up equipment.Do you even want to think of a moment like that of not having a working camera halfway through the wedding.Plan for the worst that could go wrong.  Being prepared will help you avoid that uncomfortable moment of not having a working camera to capture the rest of the day.

Finally, you have to be prepared for the lighting and you do that by practicing. The difference between the lighting in the church and the outside reception can throw you a curve ball, so just practice for all different lighting situations. You should try and see if you can scout the locations for the big day and try and find the best spots to shoot as well as gauging the lighting needs.

Doing these 5 tips will help you immensely.  It will prepare you for whatever might go wrong, it will prepare you for capturing what goes right, and it will prepare you to help contribute to this wonderful day by being the best photographer you can be.  Take it from my years of experience as a San Diego photographer.

Looking for a photographer for a special day?  Well my experience being a San Diego Photographer has given me some insight on how to make the best choice for that special occasion.  So don’t even think about popping open the yellow pages and picking any old photographer that you find.  Take it from my experience and follow these steps on choosing a good photographer.

When you know that a special day is coming up, most people want a way to remember those special moments, and most of the time it will be with pictures.  So it is critical that if you are going to hire a photographer to capture those moments, that you do your research, , especially if it is a wedding, I know from first hand experience as a San Diego Wedding Photographer.  Start by asking friends and family for any people they can refer you to.  With that list, you can start to put together some potential candidates.

After talking with your friends and family, you should now have a good list of photographers to work with.  With that, take a look at their websites.  See if they have an online portfolio for you to view.  By looking at their past work, you will get a better idea of whether or not their style and the types of shots that they take are in line with what you have in mind.  By doing this, you can narrow your list down even more to the photographers whose work you like so far.

Third, start to call up the photographers and conduct a phone interview.  Once you have narrowed your list of photographers down to about two or three you can call them up and begin your interviewing process.  You can then make an appointment to meet with the photographer and view their portfolios if you have not already viewed it online.  During these phone interviews it is important to ask questions.  The more specific you are with your question the better understanding you will get as to whether or not the photographer is the one you are looking for.  While on the phone you should ask the photographer to bring in his collection of coverage of one particular event so that you will know exactly what to expect from that photographer.

Now, after meeting with the final photographers on the list, it is time to decide who will be the right person for the job.  Some of the factors you want to base your decision upon is, does this person understand what you want for this photo shoot, and how to capture the special moments.  Also is this a person whom you like.  Believe it or not, for something as intimate as photographing a special day, you want to make sure it is somebody you get along with.  After you believe you have found the perfect photographer, then go ahead and make the decision and let the person know you have chosen them.

Doing these few but profound steps will help you in many ways.  The process will give you the opportunity to know your photographer more intimately then any other process.  Having this knowledge of him or her will allow you to connect with them, which is very important.  It will also let you see what their style and vision will be for the photo shoot.  And probably the most important part is the fact you will be at ease in your mind, because you have taken great care to find the right photographer.
